Founding Creative Director & lead singer/songwriter of Mermaid Music:

 

Samantha Fernandez was born on Wurrundgeri land in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Her Mountains are the Dandenong's & her River is the Yarra.

her bay is Port Phillip bay & her Ocean's are the South Pacific & the Southern Ocean.

 

Samantha's ancestry is Celtic. A Mother, her spiritual path has been undeniably linked with the earth & nature, traveling across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Japan, Hong Kong, parts of China, Indonesia, Macau, USA, UK, France & Samoa. 

 

Her singing journey began at home, coming from a musical family & then at school, where she studied classical singing becoming a Trinity college music Scholar at Melbourne University, studying liturgical choral music, under Dr C. Dearnly of St Paul's cathedral, London.

 

She also studied a Bachelor of Arts in performance art & Graduated from the Victorian College of the Art's with a Post Grad in Art, community engagement & cultural development.

 

Samantha also studied Massage therapy & Hawaiian lomi lomi, as well as, a Reiki Mastership, Theta healing & Vipassna meditation-going on to practice in the healing arts for many years; Managing several retreats, day spa's & wellness centers in Australia & New Zealand.
